Workshop Introduction:
Listening to the Rhythm of the Ocean is a sensory-based creative experiment that begins with listening. Sound becomes a medium that activates bodily movement, spatial awareness, and creative expression. Entering the natural environment, we re-examine the role of perception within artistic practice.
Amid the crashing waves, shifting winds, and the friction of stones, the body becomes an open instrument of perception—responding to each vibration, change, and spatial occurrence. This is not merely a listening exercise, but a cross-sensory dialogue between sound and movement.
Through sound, we explore the rhythms of space, the flow of the environment, and the resonance within ourselves. These acts of “hearing” transform into gestures, improvisations, and creative responses. Sound becomes a trigger that calls forth creation—an ever-unfolding process where the ocean is both the stage and the collaborator.
